There are a lot of hiking trails, including the PCT, right on top of the mountain. Once you hit the dirt road turning around a RV our size is not so easy, at least not for a couple miles. The pull out area is huge and can fit any size rig and easy to turn around. After talking to a Ranger he told me I was allowed to park in the large pull out areas just down the road. I parked there for a few days because I thought that was the only legal parking. There is a small parking area by the vault toilets about 50 feet long on a narrow mountain road. The actual Mt Ashland campground is hard to get a RV into.
